Good Morning Hosp
We had THREE Solid Gold Office Referrals this week!! Way to go to Sophia, Andrew and Katie for taking the time to help our friends in class. It makes my heart happy when the students help others without me asking them. Very proud!

SHAPES
I am attaching the anchor charts we have made the last
few weeks while studying shapes (2-D, 3-D, regular and irregular shapes).
You can use these charts to review shapes with your child
at home. Your child will be assessed
over these concepts at the end of May. A
question I would ask them is , "What are the attributes
of a square?" . In their answer
they will tell me how many sides and vertices make up a square.
There are 2-D and 3-D shapes all over your house so you
can have your child go on a scavenger hunt looking for shapes.
Research Projects and Eggs
Our research projects are almost done!! YEAH!!! I don't want to give it all away just yet. You will be able to see the final project on May 7th at Open House!
Look at what arrived in our room today!! This is our grade level incubator. Next Tuesday I will go and pick up 4 eggs for us to hatch. We will do a two week study of the life cycle of an egg to a chick. We talked about the classroom expectations while we are host to the eggs and chicks. It should take about 21-24 days for the eggs to hatch. (if all goes well) We only have one set per school so we will have other first graders coming into observe periodically over our life cycle study. Once they hatch and are chicks I will bring them back to the farm where they came to us as eggs. Stay tuned!
