Today in math I gave each student a piece of paper with a number on it. (Numbers were random 6-14) The students had to write or draw different ways to make the number. It was so much fun to see and hear the way our friend think!

100's Day
Hi Parents,
Next Wednesday is our 100th day of school! Can you believe we have been in school that long! We are very excited at school and hope you are at home too. We have a few fun activities that we would like your help with. There will be several notes coming home to tell you about them but I wanted to send a quick email so you had all the information in one place!
1. Please help your child make a collection of 100 items (Examples: shells, leaves, buttons, beans, candy etc) and display them in a creative way. An example is a necklace with 100 beads or an alien with 100 eye balls :o) Please return the collections by Monday, February 4th.
2. One of the notes will have a brown paper bag attached to it. Please collect 100 of something small ( cheerios, beans, legos etc) and put them in the bag. Then help your student write two clues as to what is in the bag and staple the clues to the bag. Please send in on Monday February 4th as well.
3. We will be having a 100’s day snack. A note will be coming home with one item that we would ask you to send in. Please check your note to find out what item we ask that you send. We also need those by Monday February 4th.
4. On Wednesday, the students are invited to dress up like they think they would look if they were 100 years old. Be creative and have fun! Some helpful hints are to use old glasses or canes, sprinkle baby powder in their hair so it looks gray etc.
Please let me know if you have any questions!! Have fun!

Side Walk Chalk
Only in Texas does it snow at the beginning of the week and by the end of the week we are outside playing with chalk. This week we discussed the uses of rocks. Chalk is one of them. On Thursday we made our own side walk chalk. On Friday it hardened and we were able to test it out.
