Busy Week!!

This week was CrAzY busy with birthdays, increasing our reading stamina, getting ready for our math CBA and having Mrs. Kim come and read to us!! Sophia and Krishna celebrated their birthday this week.

We have increased our reading stamina to 20 minutes of continuous reading!! We do this during our reading workshop time. While I am conferencing or doing guided reading in small groups the rest if the class is reading independently. This is not as easy as it sounds, but our class is focused and determined to see the stamina meter rise!!
This is a photo after working hard to stay on track during readers workshop.

A huge thanks to Mrs. Kim for reading Mooseltoe to us on Thursday!! It's a silly book about a moose family and how they get ready for the holidays.

Friday at Good Morning Hosp the purple group won the Gold Guitar for their amazing job in music this week!! Way to go purple group!!

A Classroom Full of Little Inventors!

Friday we finished up our science unit on inventors. As tables we set out to make a door stopper for our classroom. The door stopper needed to hold the weight of the heavy door. We had some amazing ideas but not all of them worked. We learned that working on an invention  takes a lot of patience and it is ok if it doesn't work because we can always try again.

Happy Birthday Sophia!!

Happy birthday to the always silly Sophia!! Sweet Sophia always makes us laugh! Happy birthday Sophia!

Holidays are Coming!!

Today our amazing principal and assistant principal have us the gift of wearing workout/sweats to school!! Sounds silly but it makes my heart happy to slip on sweats and tennis shoes!! Today I sported my Frisco Turkey Trot shirt and I had a little buddy wearing the same shirt! Twins!!
Changed up the bulletin board outside the classroom last night. Olaf was a huge hit!!

Hosp for the Holidays

Barks and Books

This holiday season, the Hosp Green Team and library are sponsoring a recycling drive to benefit two great, local causes.

BARKS
Donation bins will be left outside each pod for students to bring items for the Humane Society Animal Shelters.  The winning grade will receive a special privilege.  Suggested items are collars, leashes, non-perishable food, bedding, etc.

BOOKS
Book donation bins will also be left outside the library.  Please bring in your gently used, hard-cover books to benefit a local, economically disadvantaged, Frisco elementary school.
