Power Writing

Our class will do "Power Writing" 3-4 a week to help us with our writing this year.  Today we looked at a picture of a community and wrote about it. During Power Writing the student can write about the picture any way they want. They can make a list, write a story or write how the picture made them feel. There is no right or wrong way to write during this activity. The timer is set for 2 minutes and they have to write the whole time.(this time will increase over the school year)  When the timer goes off they meet with their partner and share and then a few students share with the whole class. It is very exciting to see what they come up with!!
