Monday

On Monday we read Goldilocks and the Three Bears. After we read the story we made a circle map describing Goldilocks. When we were finished describing her we were able to make a complete sentence using a tree map. We will continue to work writing sentences using these two different types of Thinking Maps.
We also started discussing word families. We started with the -at family.

At math time we introduced 3-D shapes. Cira, Danny & Jaimee helped us decide which shape was in each bag by describing the features of each shape.

This week in science we are discussing heating and cooling changes. We took ice cubes out of the freezer and observed the changes that took place. Jonah noticed that the ice was melting because our " heat from our hands was warming the ice cube." Danny told us that if we let it melt and put it back in the freezer that "the water in our hand would turn back into ice."
What great scientists!!
