Pumpkin Rotation Day!

What a great day!! We did a pumpkin rotation and went to every classroom to learn about pumpkins. In our room we talked about the five senses of a pumpkin. Here the boys are using their sense of smell.

Here the girls are using their sense of touch.

Here Evan is using his sense of taste and David his sense of hearing.

We also discussed what the pumpkin looked like and recorded all of our observations on a tree map.

In Ms. Ragan's class we read the poem Five Little Pumpkins and made a picture to illustrate. In Mrs. Patz's class we made a book about the life cycle of a pumpkin.

In Ms. K's class we counted the number of pumkin seeds in a pumpkin!! There are a ton! In Mrs. Bell's class we made a recipe for pumpkin bread and then helped make the bread. YUMMMY!

Last, we went to Mrs. Hodges' class to explore the pumpkins by using our math skills.
We weighed them, measured how tall and how wide they are.

We had such a fun day!! We also had a fire drill and a lock down drill at the end of the day. We did awesome!!
