Friday we finished up our science unit on inventors. As tables we set out to make a door stopper for our classroom. The door stopper needed to hold the weight of the heavy door. We had some amazing ideas but not all of them worked. We learned that working on an invention takes a lot of patience and it is ok if it doesn't work because we can always try again.
This Week in First ....
Math: I can rock the CBA!
Writing: We can select powerful,descriptive words that help paint a picture in our reader's mind.
Spelling: We can spell words with rhyme patterns -ee and bl- blend.
Reading: We can read with our book club.
Science: We can use book creator to finish a project on weather.

Gingerbread Exchange
Our class is participating in a Gingerbread Exchange. We have made gingerbread boys and girls and have sent them to different schools around the United States. We will receive 15 gingerbread boys or girls from the same schools. As of now we have 5.

Holidays are Coming!!
Today our amazing principal and assistant principal have us the gift of wearing workout/sweats to school!! Sounds silly but it makes my heart happy to slip on sweats and tennis shoes!! Today I sported my Frisco Turkey Trot shirt and I had a little buddy wearing the same shirt! Twins!!

This holiday season, the Hosp Green Team and library are sponsoring
a recycling drive to benefit two great, local causes.
BARKS
Donation bins will be left outside each pod for students to bring
items for the Humane Society Animal Shelters.
The winning grade will receive a special privilege. Suggested items are collars, leashes,
non-perishable food, bedding, etc.
BOOKS
Book donation bins will also be left outside the library. Please bring in your gently used, hard-cover books
to benefit a local, economically disadvantaged, Frisco elementary school.
